The exterior was designed to flow with the artistic community surrounding the property. The result is a simplified brick and metal clad façade, utilizing wood planks salvaged from the wreckage of Hurricane Sandy. The overall design mixes sleek and rustic as a contemporary nod to the manufacturing history of the area. Most unique to 785 Dekalb is the full-height atrium, which extends throughout the building’s 6 stories. Amenities include a 5th-floor library lounge with wet bar and television, 6th-floor game room, and fully featured cellar-floor gym, bike storage, and laundry.

Design concept included creating an industrial loft-like quality with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass partitions, concrete, epoxy floors, and exposed HVAC duct work. The kitchens and bathrooms boast a clean modern design with neutral colors and minimal details.
After 25 years, the famous Kraft Coffee Shop on 42nd street was to be relocated and totally rejuvenated as the all-new 4,000 sq. ft. Theater Row Diner. Materials including polished concrete, textured stucco, and metal mesh ceiling tiles were combined to create the desired, more modern feel.
Situated directly under a theater auditorium, the diner’s sloped ceiling was used to create an architectural effect accented by translucent ceiling panels, milk white glass light boxes and exposed concrete.
The front area features a bar whose mosaic-tiled surface gently curves upward from the floor, while the center dining area is highlighted by an internally illuminated glass image wall.
